The Reserve Bank of New Zealand- Te Pūtea Matua is excited to announce the 2023 Monetary Policy Challenge.

The challenge will kick off with a webinar on Wednesday 7 June 1:30-2:30 where participants will learn first-hand about career prospects from our brightest and best economists and the May Monetary Policy Statement. There will be a Q&A session for students to ask questions. Students can pre submit questions to challenge@rbnz.govt.nz and also ask questions on the day.

Following the webinar, teams of students will be invited to answer a question and submit a video presentation. The question will be released after the webinar on our website. Submissions close Wednesday 28 June at 5:00pm.

While we encourage you to watch the webinar, it is not a condition of entry to the challenge. Students may also only watch the webinar and not participate in the challenge.

First place winners will spend the day in Wellington at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Here they will have lunch with the Governor, Adrian Orr, and meet with other employees of RBNZ.
