Choose to Challenge: Year 11-13

FreeAre you a Year 11-13 high school student curious about life on campus? Keen to celebrate women’s achievements and take action for equality? Want to be part of the kōrero?
Choose to Challenge is a free interactive event in honour of this year’s International Women’s Day theme. The day will celebrate equality and activism, with guest lecturers focusing on core subjects of English, History, and Politics.
The New Zealand Poet Laureate for 2017–2019 and English lecturer, Dr Selina Tusitala Marsh, will be leading our first session of the day on arts as activism and History lecturer Associate Professor Jennifer Frost will examine why the current voting age is 18. Dr Kathryn Smits from Politics and International Relations will close the day with a lecture investigating the links between gender and politics.
Morning tea and lunch are provided. Students can register to attend through Eventbrite by scanning the QR Code on the poster image or using the link.
