Give it a Go Day – John Paul College, Rotorua
On Thursday 26th November the Careers team at John Paul College hosted a careers session for 160 Year 9 students. Employers and facilitators from the local community ran a series of half an hour workshops, with 13 different workshops running concurrently. Over the course of the session students each attended 3 workshops, taking part in fun, interactive and tactile activities. The event sought to engage and inspire young people by show-casing the different pathways for Rangatahi. Sessions like this allow students to build an understanding about their interests, values and strengths which will motivate and influence their life, learning and future work choices.
Thank you to the following Employers/Providers who were represented on the day: Toi Ohomai, Service Skills Centre, Active VMA Engineering Solutions, John Paul College, Etco, Kia Ora Hauora, NZ Police, Dubzz Digital Marketing, Putake Nui and OneChance NZ. (and poster attached)
