Futureworx is a suite of e-learning courses
about workplace sustainability. The first of these, Futureworx 1,
is now open for student enrolments. You can see a sample of the
course here.
- The 2012 CATE Conference will be held on 14
- 16 November 2012 at Copthorne Resort Hotel, Bay of
Islands. 2012 CATE Conference website and online

- Please view the Conference Strands document which
outlines the strands to be covered on each day of the conference
and then indicate on the expression of interest form what day/s your
workshop would fit best.
Completed Workshop Abstracts must be submitted as a word
document to info@conference2012.co.nz
no later than 5pm, Monday 25th June 2012.
The conference dinner is Friday night and the reduced hotel charges
are available for delegates, for the whole weekend.
The Oceania Coach/es leaves Auckland Airport at 12.00 pm and
takes delegates to their hotels in Paihia or Waitangi with a
tourist stop and afternoon tea on Tuesday 13 Nov. It collects
delegates at 8.00 am on the Saturday and returns to Auckland by
1.00 pm with a tourist stop and morning tea. The return cost is
$160 pp and the coach will remain in the Bay of Islands to provide
transport where necessary.

Heather Carpenter is presenting workshops on
Holland's Self Directed Search. Attendees gain NZCER
Certification to use this tool.
Holland's personality typology has been used world-wide for over
40 years, and John Holland is considered a pioneer in the field of
interpretive self-assessment.
Used effectively, it is a simple and powerful identity tool that
helps students and clients understand their attractions,
orientations and life themes. The workshop, which would certify you
to use the SDS assessments is very practical, and offers new best
practice ideas when using the tool.

Call for Abstracts
The 21st Annual Conference of the Career Development Association
of Australia (CDAA) will consider the links between career and
workplace development and the role career development plays in
addressing national skills and social inclusion issues.
It will explore how quality career practice delivers positive
outcomes for organisations, educational institutions and
individuals of all ages and will feature diverse sector views and
approaches to designing and implementing relevant programs and
interventions.
CDAA is pleased to invite abstracts for Concurrent Workshops
addressing one or more of the following conference themes:
• Social inclusion
• Career transitions
• Workforce/career development
• Career development in organisations
• Business and entrepreneurial skills for career
practice

- CDANZ October 6th breakfast event: Anne Rundle - Move
over Freud
Anne Rundle will be giving a presentation titled "Move over
Freud" - examining the role of self in Career Guidance.
This session will consider:
- what the self is
- finding a lost self
- our self versus their self
Anne is a Registered Psychologist, a careers counsellor, a
workplace coach, runs a busy Development Centre, and is also a
lecturer; teaching in the areas of communication, psychology, and
career guidance in three educational institutions.
Anne has many years of work based experience in roles managing
organisational change, staff development, and evaluating and
auditing interpersonal and organisational relationships. Her main
interest areas are workplace contentment, and she does this by
working with management to ensure all staff are performing to their
potential. Anne also works with employees to establish and reach
their career goals, and has an interest in using cognitive
behaviour therapy techniques to help employees who are experiencing
workplace bullying. Anne also runs professional development
sessions for managers and professional supervision for career
practitioners.
